If you are a Christian and you do not believe justice is Biblical, you have a hole in your theology.
If you are a Christian and you care more about other’s vertical reconciliation (getting them to heaven) than their horizontal reconciliation (justice here on earth), you have a hole in your gospel.
If you are a Christian and you do not believe justice and righteousness are two sides of the same coin, you have a hole in your theology.
If you are a Christian and you justify the killings of black people, I question if you really are a Christian.
If you are a Christian and you bring up the criminal record of a black person as if this is okay for them to be murdered, I question if you really are a Christian.
Biblical justice means to love your neighbor as yourself.
Biblical justice means you want black humans to flourish and you’ll do everything in your power to fight for them.
Biblical justice means Jesus ushering in a new Kingdom here on earth that holds injustice acts accountable.
Biblical justice means God desires for His people whom He put breath in to be allowed to breathe and see another day.
If we, who call ourselves Christians and call ourselves righteous want to honor God with our worship and with our lives, then we are to pursue justice for ALL people who have yet to experience the righteousness of God. Justice shows up as we Christians love and fight for those caught up in oppressive systems and structures.
Human beings made in the image of God deserve justice and as a Christian, it is who we have been called to be to live out the mandate of loving others as God loves us. This isn’t optional or secondary to the Gospel. This is the GOSPEL.
