Hey, fam! Let me start off by saying how excited I am that you are here, stopping by to check out a piece of my life!
I hope that while you are here on the site exploring, something inspires you, catches your eye, makes you smile, and you can say to yourself, “I am glad I stopped by this page!”
So what’s to know about me?
I am a child of God, husband, father, mentor, educator, a people’s champion, leader, teacher, speaker, writer, and student of life. I have dedicated my life to living out the Great Commandment and Great Commission, which is to: love God completely, love myself correctly, and love others compassionately while sharing God’s love day by day.
I have a lovely wife named Jasmine, who you see in the picture below. We have a beautiful daughter named Adeline and a new baby boy named August. Outside of God, they are the best things that have ever happened in my life. That says a lot for a basketball junkie! 🙂

I was a Division 1 basketball player. Shout out to the University of Detroit Mercy. I transferred and became an All-American at the University of Pikeville and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019. I also played some professional basketball for the East Kentucky Energy and Lake Michigan Admirals. Steph Curry has nothing on me! 😉

I have an MA in Ministerial Leadership from Wesley Seminary, and I currently reside in Grand Rapids, MI.

Before you leave, here are some great options for you:
Drop me a message, say hello, connect with me on social media, and subscribe to my blog by putting in your email or pressing follow if you have a WordPress account. Once you do this, you can expect a message from me from time to time.
I hope these words below encourage you!
I know you are here for the first time, but let me just say, life has a special meaning to me. As a 17-year-old teen, I was ready to end it all. Through life difficulties, dealing with emotional and physical abuse throughout my childhood, I found myself in a rough spot. I felt like the world didn’t have much to offer. My identity was lost.
Through God, basketball, and a mentor, my life began to change. God met me with His unconditional grace, gave me new life in Him, surrounded me with a supportive community, allowed me to understand who I am, and who He created me to be. Now I get the opportunity to share my transformation story, connect with students, educators, families, and be the leader for others that I needed when I was a teen.
I am passionate about not only sharing my journey but also encouraging students/teens and all those I have the opportunity to come into contact with, that there is a better way to live life. I’ve had many opportunities to share at conferences, churches, colleges, high schools, and middle schools about the difference one person can make as they begin to discover who they are. As we focus daily on growing 1% over time, we will see that we have become better than the person we were the day before.
P.S. If you are currently in a dark place or have been through a dark season before, I believe you have connected with this page for a reason. I believe our journey together will allow us to connect, share stories, and grow. God has a purpose for you, and He invites us all into His story, so get ready to walk into your full potential in life. Know that you are loved and valued, my friend.

Brittany,
Thank you for being transparent and open. Continue to pray, seek the Lord, write out your emotions and thoughts. Stay obedient to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. It will never steer you wrong. I pray, God reveals His God given purpose to your spouse. I pray God opens a new light for Him to see the direction he is suppose to walk in.
This is amazing my friend as a witness and as a young teenager myself when you found the Lord I was asking you so many questions and even some years later I asked how to keep my faith and now I’m doing that with my husband and my children and trying to spread God’s word I’m happy I read your article and you have some really dope clothing items as well God is using you and your wife in a very special way for us all God bless you guys
Thank you! I am grateful for the grace of God, the journey, and how He keeps us in His care. Thanks for always sending encouragement my way and for the many conversations. It has all helped me grow and gain a better understanding of my faith. Keep leading your fam well!
